After coming out to bat valiantly with a dislocated shoulder for England’s final Test against India in the Summer, Chris Woakes was not included in the Ashes Squad that was announced last month. It seems England have moved on from the experienced pacer, and he has hung up his International boots.
Will Jacks makes his Test return, featuring on the England Ashes squad instead of a second frontline spinner. Is this a master stroke from England, who favour batting depth, or will Shoaib Bashir hurt from not having the back up of another full time spinner that can share the load?
The 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup is underway as the competition, hosted in India and Sri Lanka, started on the 30th September. India are looking like strong favourites, but you can never write off the Australian’s Women’s team, the most successful in the ODI Women’s World Cup format.
